| It all began in the afternoon, on a cold wet Skegness beach. There were a few idiots who had an odd urge to turn up and "Build?" sandcastles for a sandcastle building competition. I can't be sure who won or what really happened, because I wasn't there, and when the prizes were presented, I was pissed. However I'm sure they were good, and I think the people that won were local..... | ![]() |
| The raffle prizes ranged from odd to just bloody odd. After the raffle was the highlight of the evening, "The Fancy Dress Competition" There were only a few entrants mainly because of the poor turnout, but the eventual winners were the "Topless sunbather" and "Shaz and Daz" the surfers. After the formalities, everyone got down and boogied for the rest of the night. From my blurred recollections of the evening, I seem to recall lots of nicely priced beer and some cigarettes of the herbal nature that made the evening just that little bit better. |

During the evening, the entertainment was provided by "Tura" which was a totally funky disco, playing a lot of good stuff, however at around 2.15am, there was a complaint made by the landlord of the pub (The Kings Head at Gunby Corner if your interested - a excellent venue for rallies) He was a bit miffed that the disco wanted to shut down. However, in the interests of safety (the DJ's were knackered and wanted to go home) it all wound down and everyone wandered off to the control tent for the usual post party merriment. |

Special thanks must go to Dave and Wendy and everyone from Mid Lincs for the organisation, and to Fran from Women in the Wind, who also had something to do with decorating the place. On the right is a piccy of the Fancy dress winner who I must admit I suppose was Me!! (I'm not the inflatable one by the way!) All in all it was a good night, and if it had been better supported that would have been a big bonus, as there was talk that the whole night might run at a loss. If it's on next year get on your wheels and get there!!!! |
